UNAPL – UNION NATIONALE DES PROFESSIONS LIBÉRALES 

The French national union of liberal professions (Union nationale des professions libérales -UNAPL) is a representative employers’ organization, which was created in 1977.
It brings together 68 trade unions including -health, law, lifestyle and technical professions. It is present in the regions with the regional and departmental UNAPLs, and with the Houses of liberal professions (Maisons des professions liberals). The liberal professions represent 28.2% of French companies and employ nearly 2.3 million people, of which 1.1 million employees. UNAPL is a member of the Union of Local Businesses (Union des entreprises de proximité) – U2P – the first representative employers’ organization at national level.

UNIÓN PROFESIONAL

Professional Union (Unión Profesional) is the state association, which brings together the Spanish closed professions. It is constituted of 33 General and Superior Councils and Professional Bodies at the state level, which bring together nearly 1,000 professional bodies and 1.5 million liberal professionals throughout the territory. The professional services subsector generates almost 10.7% of the total Gross Value Added (GVA) of the Spanish economy, and its contribution to direct employment would be 12.6% and represents 16.7% of the world of business.

CONFPROFESSIONI

Confprofessioni (Italian Confederation of Liberal Professions) is a second level employers’ association that represents and protects the interests of liberal professionals in Italy. It was established in 1966 with the idea of bringing together in a single representative body the professionals practising regulated professions. Confprofessioni has been a recognised social partner since 1978 and is a signatory party to the National Collective Labour Contract of the employees of the professional practices. Twenty national professional associations adhere to Confprofessioni.

MALTA FEDERATION OF PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION

The Malta Federation of Professional Associations (MFPA) was set up in 1971 by seven founding organisations. Today MFPA comprises of 17 professional organisations as full members and other three organisations with partial membership, representing no less than 10.000 professionals in Malta. Among its main objectives: the promotion of professions; the maintenance of professional standards; the promotion of inter-professional relationships; the protection of professional rights and privileges; contribution to the advancement of the interests of society.

THE ROMANIAN UNION OF LIBERAL PROFESSIONS

The Romanian Union of Liberal Professions is a non-governmental, apolitical organization, set up on 11th of June 2001, on the basis of Government Ordinance no. 26/2000 that gained legal personality by its registration in the Registry of Associations and Foundations kept by the Law Court. The Romanian Union of Liberal Professions consists of associations of liberal professions and it is open to the adhesion of all professional organizations and legal persons that fulfil the conditions set out in its Statute. RULP affirms that it represents about 140.000 liberal professionals. The Romanian Union of Liberal Professions has a status of a full member of the European Council of Liberal Professions – CEPLIS and the World Union of Professions – WUP. RULP participates in the social dialogue organized within the framework of the Economic and Social Council of Romania, where it has a status of a full member.

UNPLIB – UNION NATIONALE DES PROFESSIONS LIBÉRALES ET INTELLECTUELLES DE BELGIQUE

Unplib asbl is an interprofessional association and its main missions are to promote, defend and represent the moral, social and economic interests of the liberal professions. It is constituted of more than 56,000 members, in the liberal professions, represented by their professional associations – federations, orders and institutes. In 2011, Unplib was awarded the title of royal society. This is a recognition for the work accomplished over more than 50 years.

BUKO – BUNDESKONFERENZ DER FREIEN BERUFE ÖSTERREICHS 

The Federal Conference of the Free Professions of Austria (Bundeskonferenz der Freien Berufe Österreichs – BUKO) is the organization of the nine independent chambers in Austria. The BUKO is a non-profit organization and its aim is to represent the interests of the liberal professions.

FTI – FEDERATION LUXEMBOURGEOISE DES TRAVAILLEURS INTELLECTUELS INDEPENDANTS 

The FEDERATION OF INDEPENDENT INTELLECTUAL WORKERS OF LUXEMBOURG
(FEDERATION LUXEMBOURGEOISE DES TRAVAILLEURS INTELLECTUELS INDEPENDANTS asbl – FTI) was created on July 12, 1961 following a need of the liberal professions to come together in order to better defend their interests. Following the amendment of the statutes of 14 April 1997, 12 professional organizations are affiliated within the FTI, which is a platform for dialogue and a voice for the liberal professions.

RETE PROFESSIONI TECNICHE

The Italian Network of Technical Professions (Rete Professioni Tecniche) is an association founded on June 26, 2013. It includes the Presidents of the Associations and National Bodies (currently nine) as follows: architects, planners, landscapers and conservators, chemists, agronomists and doctors, forestry doctors, geologists, surveyors and surveyors graduates, engineers, agricultural experts and agricultural experts graduates, industrial experts and industrial experts graduates, food technologists.

Irish Inter-professional Association

The Irish inter-professional association is the only body bringing together monoprofessional association in the republic of Ireland.  

Coordinamento Libere Associazioni Professionali

The Coordination of Liberal Professional Associations (Coordinamento Libere Associazioni Professionali) established in 1999, is a non-partisan and non-profit association which currently brings together more than 200 liberal professional associations, with more than 300,000 registered professionals. The objective of CoLAP is to implement and support the dual system of professional representation in Italy, composed by regulatory bodies and professional associations. This is to ensure compliance with ethical rules whilst facilitating the choice and protection of the clients, always with due respect to competition rules. The associative system that CoLAP represents and supports is a merit-based system that values skills and the quality of professional services and that implements transparency.
