CEPLIS is now Member of the EESC’s Liaison Group

It is with great pleasure that we are announcing that CEPLIS was officially granted on Wednesday the status of member of the Liaison Group of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).

The Liaison Group was set up in 2004 to provide a framework for political dialogue and cooperation between the EESC and the European organisations and networks with whom the Group liaises on cross-cutting issues of common interest.

The Group provides civil society umbrella organisations with a unique institutional structure, enabling civil dialogue and promoting participatory democracy. It is a channel through which civil society can discuss and influence the EU agenda and decision-making processes (as envisaged by Article 11 TEU).

The Liaison Group is involved in organising joint initiatives and events, as well as hearings, conferences and workshops, on topics of shared interest. Its major annual event, the Civil Society Days, has evolved, since 2024, into Civil Society Week, organised jointly with the EESC.

Our participation is obviously a recognition of CEPLIS’s importance as representative of a socio-economic category unique for its proximity and service to the citizens . CEPLIS will do its utmost to bring a very fruitful impact to the Liaison Groups’ work through our own Working Groups and the Young Professionals Committee.
