On March 21st, CEPLIS had the pleasure of receiving a delegation from our Italian member Confprofessioni. At the heart of the discussion was the issue of gender equality across liberal professions.
Participants highlighted that several structural factors of inequalities remained present across our sector. In particular, economic inequalities, such as gender pay and pension gaps, were still significant and needed to be addressed with acute attention. Likewise, participants emphasized the necessity to address the issue of education as a factor of motivation to a number of too ‘gendered’ professions.
Under consideration were also issues of diversity and inclusion, as participants considered that the current difficulties faced by women professionals deprived clients, patients, and the economy in general from very valuable contributions coming from highly skilled female individuals.
