European project LIGHT: The first Newsletter.

The first Newsletter on the activities of the European project LIGHT is now online .

It contains a presentation of the project as well as information on: the New legislative package form the European Commission – the Online training – the beginning of the activities – the Policy statement – the Sofia meeting and the first national seminar in Rome.

The European project “LIGHT: “Illuminating dark corners”” aims at increasing the competency of legal professions in the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism (AML/FT). Throughout the project, selected lawyers and notaries will enhance their functional competencies regarding the AML/FT issue thanks to several national seminars in Rome, Madrid, Brussels and Sofia.

LIGHT project is led by CONFPROFESSIONI – the Italian Confederation of Liberal Professions – and gathers the following partners all dedicated to carry out this project; CEPLIS – the European Council of the Liberal Professions, WLA – the Association of Women Lawyers, FEDERNOTAI – the National Trade Union of Italians Notaries, UINL – the International Union of Notaries, CGN – the General Council of Notaries, CGAE – the General Council of the Spanish Lawyers.

CEPLIS is actively contributing in the evolution of this project as a part of its mission for the development of our professions and their advise and service to the European citizens.
