UNPLIB & CEPLIS Conference on Artificial Intelligence

On the 15th of March, Belgian liberal professionals had the opportunity to follow a multidisciplinary seminar, co-organised by CEPLIS, UNPBLIB, and SNI (Belgian Independent Workers Trade Union),  in order to debate on the impact of artificial intelligence in our field. The event was held in Brussels, in the premises of Digital City.

Professor Theodoros Koutroubas was among the speakers, next to him CEPLIS Vice-President Mr. Jean-Yves Pirlot

Adopted recently by the European Parliament, the ‘Artificial Intelligence Act’ was of course at the heart of the discussions. While the recent Regulation remains to be definitively adopted by the Council, participants have welcomed the decision of the European Parliament to highlight the ethical challenges coming with this technological progress.

Mr Jean Ruwet, Vice-president of UNPLIB, Mr Bernard Jacquemin, President of UNPLIB, and Mr Christophe Wambersie President of SNI provided us with some insight into the subject

As digitalisation plays an ever-increasing role in the services and advice provided by liberal professions, Artificial Intelligence represents an opportunity to increase quality in favour of our clients and patients. It is essential to educate professionals on the opportunities and challenges brought by this technological revolution.
